Pitagoras and Kepler talked about a perfect harmony created by the universe. The orbiting planets generate vibrations that compose a universal symphony to which every human being is in constant connection. A connection that surpases any rational thought: The Harmony of the Spheres (Musica Universalis).
This installation takes this concept and questions our position within the universe; our unconcious need of connection with that “something” bigger than us; to be the “center” of the universe. This geocentric belief system is what makes us talk about planets, stars, and movements in the universe that affect and decide directly on our behaviour, personality, emotions, and fates, creating languages and meanings around this idea.
With a geometric language derived from numeric data from planets in our Solar System, Corpo Ellipsis is a sound and visual installation that diagrams the map of the Solar System as it was on the night of June 30th, 2018 in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico.
